New rider, bought a 750 about a week ago and I’ve already taken it on a few rides.
I’m already noticing just how small this bike is (6’1” with longer legs) and will be looking for threads on how to move the seat back, maybe getting rid of the passenger portion all together. And other things people have done to make the ride a bit more comfortable.
I think the 800 seat swap may be the best, with possibly the Meanstreak seat in second place. I considered trying a solo seat and maybe cut the pan to let it sit deeper onto the rear fender. Had a Mustang seat on briefly, it was way too painful for everyone that tried it.
The seat problem became apparent when I adjusted the handlebars back. Previous owner had them set forward quite a bit. I'm going to try moving the bars forward again. My thinking is, your butt isn't planted so hard into the seat if your arms are reaching farther forward, in turn giving your legs an inch or so more.
Another option is highway pegs, or of course, forward controls.
Thanks, I have been looking into the meanstreak seat. I haven’t looked into the 800 yet, but I guess I will, I thought I read somewhere that it ends up pushing you a bit more forward.
I’ve also been looking into getting some highway pegs, seeing as that’s about the only time my legs really get tired, but I want to try to find some stock ones.
I’m also about to move the handle bars forward a bit to see if that helps at all.
