So to jump right in, just turned 47 a couple months ago. Always wanted a bike, but life has had other ideas, like a failed marriage, mental health issues (severe depression), unemployment at various times. You know, the usual. I've ridden dirt bikes quite a bit in my younger days, and owned a couple of 4 wheelers (easier to justify, you can work with one of those), but a motorcycle was just not to be had. Anyhow, finally in a good place, told life I'm the boss now, and saved up enough to start looking. Low & behold Facebook market place came through for me & I'm now the proud owner of a 2001 VN750. Gonna take a bit of care before I can hit the road. It runs, but the carbs need rebuilt, a few cosmetic issues I'd like to take care of, maybe a paint job, but she's mine. Hoping to find some good info here as I've not done a lot of mechanic work, but very willing to get my hands dirty & learn. Living in the mountains of western North Carolina, I've got access to miles & miles of blacktop begging to be explored, and hopefully will soon be doing just that. Sooo, I'll be lurking around, looking for info and trying not to be too big of a nuisance to everyone.
