Hello all

Hello folks, I just picked up a 2000 VN750, it's my first bike even though I've been riding on and off for over 20 years. So far it's a blast to ride and fits me quite well. Now if only mother nature would stop the rain I could get out and ride some more.

Welcome to the machine!

Monsoons all week here, started off with a 101 heat index for a day or two, been raining frogs ever since.

Welcome. I also just recently picked up my first bike, and I have NOT been riding for 20 years.

It rained here (Middle Tennessee) yesterday, and last night the roads were still just a little wet, and the temperature was awesome (71). I had assumed I wasn't going to ride yesterday at all, but I decided to go out and see how I felt. Good ride. Glad I went. I just did 11 miles, but I need all the practice I can get, as a new rider. And it was good for the confidence to be out there under less than totally dry conditions. It was a nice change to not have to wring out my clothes when I got back.

I road a few miles between 6:00pm and 7:30. It was nice, indeed.
Beeped at three deer, one armadilla, two buzzards, two turkeys and one squirrel.

One deer was in the middle of the road running and leaping full speed in an instant. Scary! Glad it was down the road in front of me instead of on top of me. I beeped the horn, it looked at me and zip, melted into the woods.

That is scary as hell. There’s this one YouTube video of a guy hitting a deer that came out of nowhere. He came out about as well as you can expect, but he sure was rattled.
