Ready to get this bike started . If it will

My dad bought me 92 Vulcan put the carbs in shop. Got them out costed 300. Went home, put them on and still won't start. My dad passed and I really don't know how I'm gonna get this on the road. It gets spark gas and has brand new batt. I have job and I'm willing to put my money into it and for being a girl I'm mechanically inclined.

first things first....I am sorry for your loss.

It obviously it would be awesome if you get it running since it was from you dad. I bet it has sentimental worth now.

We can sure try to help you.

first questions are...
are you sure everything is hooked up correctly?
Do you have a maintenance manual? if not, it can be downloaded.

You need fuel, spark and air...sounds like you covered 2 of the 3.... do you have the stock air intake system or pods directly on the carbs? got pictures of the bike? help us understand the setup...exhaust, fuel delivery, intake....and anything else we could visibly see like the emissions stuff.

Sorry about your dad.

One thing--you'll want to be sure your choke is working. My experience, and several recent threads have stressed the importance of having a working choke. But, yeah pictures are good, too! Maybe somebody will see something?

Hi,
These bikes really like a strong battery, so make sure you've got a solid charge and your battery is in good enough shape to provide the amperage it needs to turn over.
Fuel petcock should be 'on'.
What exactly happens when you hit the start button?

1992 US-nonCA * tuxedo mod * r/r relocated

Vulcan slang for newcomers
Service Manual Download
Wiring Diagram + annotations * still undergoing revisions, but still more useful than the generic one. Let me know if you find mistakes or think something additional should be added
