I know how that goes. Have you tried a pain clinic? When I went to the VA they asked me what type of opioid I wanted for my shoulders, I am glad I told them Ibueprofen 800s, because 5 years later, they are still giving me two 180 tab bottles a month. I just give them away. They do that with opioids as well, except they cut you off randomly. Nasty nasty stuff. I didn't even like taking them after my surgeries (but I did). If you can get by without them, please do. You're obviously a smart man, but you don't even notice getting hooked. After the first week of mine, I was increasing the dose to get the same pain reduction. That's when I stopped and grunted through it. If you need them, take them, but it's super easy to become dependent. The pain clinics help with other ways to mitigate the pain while you're waiting for answers. Just a thought.
