Hey guys. I just finished rebuilding my vulcan. I split the case because the linkage was broken. Anyway upon test driving it, i notice that after I turn it off, smoke/vapor gently comes out the RIGHT tailpipe ONLY. Any ideas?

Edit: forgot to mention that I put some engine oil on/around the piston head during re assembly so it wouldnt have to run dry too long. But Im pretty sure it wouldve burned away by now? Iv ran it several times now.

Well if the oil got blown into the exhaust, it might take awhile for it to go.
If the bikes on the side stand...vapor will rise and exit the right pipe.

As long as the bikes running well and the front and rear plugs look good, I wouldn't worry about it.....

Vapor/smoke from right pipe

After riding it all day, the smoke is gone. Just some residule oil left in there I assume. And yea I am already riding the heck out of it! Thia is actually my first motorcycle. Im 18 and I willingly purchased this vulcan knowing that I would go through hell and back tearing it apart to fix the linkage! Im pretty proud of myself, I had alot of doubts during the whole process but managed to get this thing back in one peice and running again. Drove it to work today and WOW its so smooth. Shaft drive is just a dream to drive on! Ill add some pics of the final product.

great work, man. splitting the case is no small task, and all for a first bike!

you'll ride it proudly knowing it runs because YOU fixed it with your own two hands.

ride on, brotha!

Congratulations! You have every reason to be proud. We all start out just wanting to ride, but it's so rewarding to say, when i got my bike it wouldn't run an I fixed it! Look at the knowledge you have gained, and the good part is, no one can take that away from You!
Ride safe.
