Too dirty after 700 miles??

Does the oil look too dirty for only having 700ish or so miles on it since I changed it. I went ahead and changed it again. Bike had 2700ish miles when I bought it and changed the oil. Now it has about 3400 miles on it. I did have carb problems somewhere in between.

Your oil gets dark because it's cleaning. Ever look into the inside of an engine? Clean as a whistle.

Yep, looks fine as it's draining. It darkens up in the window by 1000 or so miles.

I like to see it a bit higher in the window, but it's easy to overshoot the high mark, and it's not good to run overfull. Almost as bad as no oil.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I feel better now. It's changed and fresh. I do have it a little higher filled this time. I found out the hard way that you don't fill it to the top.
