gear shifter

I am trying to get my gear shifter off and I have taken the bolt off and spread the jaws with a screwdriver and tapped on the screw driver to open the gap but it still won't come off.

Any suggestion what to do? I am about to spray pb blaster on it in case it is rusted on by chance. Unless the gap needs to be wider I am not sure what else there is to do to get it off.

Grace and Peace to you!

sounds like just rusted in place..

if the bolt is fully removed (not just loosened) it should slide right off
