Help with choosing an exhaust

As much as I hear good things about the V&N exhaust, I'm not too keen on spending that kind of money if I can help it.

So anyway, I hear Cobra slip one are real nice, and I found a pair on eBay for a decent price!

In the picture it says "some parts missing." Considering my limited knowledge on exhaust work, it seems all in order here but I'm not sure. It looks like they just attach on.

Are these a good fit? Does anyone have any advice for me? Any help would be greatly appreciated before I make the jump to buy.

I have Cobras on my project bike....they are loud.
Fit is OK... may need to do something about the centerstand stop.
If I remember right they are different lengths on each side which looks a bit weird.

They do look a bit weird. I took off the baffles already, and even that's a bit loud.

I have the Cobra slip on single sided exhaust on my bike. They are a bit loud, but not obscenely so like Harley. If you ever make it into the Rochester MN area (about 4 hrs west from you) feel free to drop by and compare exhaust setup's.

I like the way these bikes sound as compared to a Harley, especially since a Harley don't rev out to 8500

i havent had the best luck with pipes...out here we need them loud our streets way more active then what I saw on your you tube clip on modified 750..I'm envious lol...here the roads are tripled stacked with cars buses and the most familiar sound cops, so we talk through our pipes alot....Once you hook up the pipes will you be posting them as well?..I hope so...I had fish tails on not long ago but they weren't nearly as loud as I hoped...cobra pipes were always a thought but haven't heard the sound yet on a 750

No ones ever convinced me that a real loud exhaust makes you safer. We have quite a few riders out here running with straight pipes and if I'm in my car I don't hear them until they pass me. Ditto for bikes in oncoming lanes. Which means when I do hear them they are already past the point where I could do them any harm.

Sitting at a light and being next to one of them makes me want to shoot them if they sit there revving their engine.... and I love motorcycles....makes me think what the average cage driver is thinking....

I honestly don't think you can properly prove whether loud pipes save lives or not. It DOES get noticed (sometimes for the wrong reasons I get it) though.

The baffles off the bike make it loud enough but not annoying I feel, and doesn't make me need ear plugs when I ride. I'm working with a friend who's a master welder so in the spring he's going to get some pipes on for me. I will definitely post pics of it when that's done!

hmmm,my bikes are loud.quite a few times have had people not notice me and start to pull out.I pull in clutch, rev up motor, and car stops, and driver looks at me with look of surprise on face,"where the **** did the motorcycle come from?".so I'll say I've proved it numerous times.but then again, because I didn't record it, it's hearsay.
