Turn downs, AND... Guess what I'm doing tonight

I know all about backpressure..... I don't care about speed. I'm turning my 1 week old VN #3 into a nasty bobber. I want straight pipes with turndowns on it, but I was wondering if you thought the header plus this 18 pipe would be long enough to run without any issues. I don't want it to backfire and suck cold air back in and warp the valves, nor any other anomalies of any kind that'll damage the engine.

Having said that, I'm just degoating tonight and putting the baffles back on. I'm just warming up my plans to go straight out and do turndowns. Side question, think it'll work if I step up to 2.5" off the header and go maybe 18" before the turndown? No issues with engine carnage?

I put a little "rake" to the lines of it so it kicks up a little. I like it. i want to wrap the exhaust, but it's $50 for the wrap to do both sides. I wish I could find it cheaper. Till then I'm putting the chrome back on I believe. If I don't I'll use high temp black paint. Haven't decided yet.
