Front ACCT Replacement

Hi, I noticed my front acct was bad and causing a ticking sound in the motor. I was able to pickup a oem replacement from my local mcy store for cheap because I had credit.

Are there any special steps I need to take when I install it or is it a simple part swap?

pretty simple part swat..

you are supposed to retract the plunger (with a screwdriver, thru end of ACCT) and hold it while you install it.. kinda like juggling.

you should have gotten 2 if you had the credit.. the rear is the same, and if the front is bad now, the rear will likely fail soon as well

Follow up question. Went I went to install it I noticed this metal piece sticking out the top which isn't there on the acct in the bike. Is this piece supposed to keep the spring in place while I install it? I can't compress the spring at all w/ my hand with this tab in the top.

looks like thats what its for. shipped from factory, I can imagine that being in there. install it, the pull the tab out. did it come with a screw/washer to go into the top where that comes out of? if not, you can re-use the ones from your old one to seal it up and keep the oil in the engine
