Ticking / tapping from top end.

Hey all,

I have not even picked up my VN700 yet, but I already know (from the current owner) that there is a ticking or tapping from the top end. He said it might be valve noise, but not really sure. (I bought the bike on Ebay, so I have yet to see the bike in person...just pics)

I see from reading posts that this could be a sign of the ACCT. Any other possibilites?

I guess I'll find out more after I pick the bike up this next weekend. I do not have much experience ripping into a motorcycle motor, but have had my share of rebuilding V8's. I guess there's no better time to start then the present!

Talking Re: Ticking / tapping from top end.

my wifes 700 ticks a little at low rpm, ive decided after the acct rebuild, that it must be a lifter.

also on your bike it could be exhaust noise from a leaky gasket.
