Vance & Hines Cruzers question

So the baffle on my Cruzers seems to be tape wrapped around the fiberglass wrap. Should I remove this tape before running the pipes on the bike? It seems like it would melt in there but maybe that's the point. What's up braintrust?

didnt you buy them off of another member if so they were already used so why did you pull the baffles anyways lol my opinion is to put the baffles back in as they are and bolt them bad boys on soon as the paint drys on the heat shields dont fook with em they worked before lol and your bike need some face time with the road not the mechanic

Yeah, he got them off me. However, due to my issues getting the bike to start, they were pretty much unused.

I can't imagine that there would be issues with the baffle material. Would seem silly for V&H to expect every customer to pull the baffles just to remove that tape.

My guess is the fiberglass was added later to quiet down the pipes. Mine didn't have any, but wanted to add it. They can be quit loud. Tape was there to hold it in place when inserting baffle. Should be fine. JMHO

Great, thanks guys. These pipes sound so amazing! Two people told me that they thought it sounded like a Harley and one told me it sounded like a much bigger bike. It was pretty funny! Been hearing a lot of compliments so far about them and getting those old rusty crap stock pipes and goat's belly off there is great.
