exhaust changes

So I am thinking of removing the back slip on mufflers just behind the chamber muffler. Do I need to rejet the carbs for this? Or will I be okay? Have an 03 vn750a

Without the backpressure from the mufflers your engine is probably going to run poorly. The few people I've read about here who went to straight pipes extended the pipes way back to build up a bit more backpressure.

dont run it without the muffs on there unless you want to burn your valves

you can as fool said put some straight pipes on that run out to the back of the rear tire and be safe

X2 I couldn't remember exactly why it was bad to run short straight pipes. Thanks new rider

Garage
I am assuming the OP is talking about leaving the Goats Belly in place and running straight pipes from there back.

I personally believe that the Goats Belly produces all the back pressure you need, so I see no harm in drilling the baffles or running straight pipes from there back.

EDIT: the original question was weather he should re-jet......there seems to be debate on this forum if it is needed or not, so I cannot answere that question confidently.
