Carb's re-jetted - How do I know?

My bike came with cobra's pipes already on it, the guy I bought it from said the carb's were re-jetted, also that the stator has been replaced, now you know when your buying from craigslist private seller's, their going to say anything to sell it.

Would the bike run like crap? Or certain trait's?

The one thing I am dealing with is at 45-50 mph in fifth gear, it bogs a bit when when you get on it, weird part is around town it run's great, no cough's etc.

Thanks ahead of time.

Anything done to the intake? Shouldn't need jetting for just pipes if intake is stock

Not trying to be a smart alec but I'd downshift. These bikes run a lot better with a little more rpms. That's probably why you haven't noticed it around town, you are in the lower gears with it already spinning pretty good.

If you see it on my bike I did it

His speed to gear ratio was what caught my attention too.
Cruiser, get your rpm's around 5000 & let us know how she's running.

I never ran anywhere near 5000k My cruising at 60mph was like 4000k maybe. Even hitting it pretty hard I rarely got over 5000k. Are you getting enough fuel?

45-50 in 5th is probably about 3250 RPM depending on tires. You won't make much power at all until 4-5000 but it shouldn't be lugging at 3k unless you're pulling up a big hill or carrying a LOT of weight. My bikes love to run at 45 in 5th but I'm light.

From my experience on two vn750s, these bikes to not need nearly as large jetting as a lot of people recommend. I'm at +1 pilot/+1 mains on one bike (#40/135) and +1/+0 on the other (#40/132), with ears shaved, coastered and free flowing pipes pipes behind the stock premuffler.
