Air Filter Housing Cracked

Prior to me owning the bike, someone over-tightened a couple of the bolts that secure the air filter element assembly to the air filter housing. This cracked/split open the plastic stem that holds the nut which the bolt goes into.

Has anyone had success in repairing/welding the plastic air filter housing?

I'd like to know what works so I don't damage it further with the wrong compound.

I stumbled onto a link at someones private vn750 site awhile back that had the same problem. He installed a small automotive hose clamp around the plastic crack to pinch it back together again enough to hold the nut from spinning. Easy, cheap fix IMO.

I remember seeing that fix before. Should work just fine.

Thanks

The hose clamp idea seems to work well. Thanks for the advice.
