Question Goats belly removal

I've noticed several threads referring to the removal of the goats belly. It obviously serves a purpose, so what is the advantage of removing it?

A little less weight, a little more top end (with a little loss on the lower end), if tuned properly. Easier to work on the bike if your doing something that may require you to move/remove exhaust system, since you would only have to deal with one pipe, instead of the entire system.

Pros and Cons:

Cons: loss of power- (although many never notice a difference)
bike is louder-(some think this is a pro)

Pro: only real one other than less weight is removing the heat source directly under the R/R...as many believe the R/R should be cooler and go as far as to relocate it elsewhere.

The goat belly makes the exhaust effectively into a two into one system, so if you're not concerned with the bikes overall performance removing the GB will make the bike louder, (but not sound better)

Going to a full aftermarket exhaust system would be a better choice.

Smile Cheers

Thanks.
Since I've already moved my R/R, I think I'll leave the goats belly where it is.

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean that they are NOT all out to get you.
