Question smell of mushrooms...

I have a strange problem with my wife's vn750..
When it runs hot, like when standing still or slow riding for a long time, the engine has a distinctive smell of mushrooms.
I think the smell comes from the cooling system somewhere but I cant locate where and no cooling liquid seems to disappear..(same level in the reservoir).
What can cause this, someone else that has the samt problem?
Is it dangerous?
If there's no danger I can live with it.

Add some onions and a nice brown sauce and you've got some good steak fixins!

If this were "Orleans" (Cindy's bike) I'd say, check for mushrooms!

I don't know what smell you're describing, but maybe something is on your exhaust header pipe under the shield? Or maybe some wiring is smoldering (yikes!) but I can't think of any smell that would be considered mushroom like. I'd be checking every connection, wiring, etc. and see if you find any clues.

I see you are from Sweden. Therefore, it is likely the very beginning of the riding season for you. You may want to check the pipes for intrusions. Over the winter a rodent filled one of my pipes with corn I had put out for the deer.

Not sure what would smell like mushrooms, but it is something to check out.

Hmm, I'm not too familiar with how mushrooms smell.
Is there any other substance you can think of to describe the smell?
