squealing sound near the left front, dampers maybe?

the squealing sound can be heard when moving and at idle when given throttle. does the dampers make a noise when they go bad? almost sounds like a chirp. didn't notice any black particles last oil change, but very small metal shavings but not a lot of them
i searched but couldn't find anything.

Dampers are rubber grommet shaped rubbers installed on (1/4") nubs of balance Cam...(the rubber) insulating Balance Cam from Balance gear, thus, by design reducing engine vibration.
Definitely not a source of squealing/chirping.
When my Dampers went out (@ 13+K miles) , first I knew (the nubs broke off-balance Gear worked it's way off) a scrapping/grinding like type noise which became louder over a 30 second time frame. Game over.
too late mate !

If it does it while standing still and giving it throttle, I would do a sound check. Use a long screwdriver or if you have one, a mechanics stethoscope and put the end on various areas and see what you've got. Make sure you check the gas cap and air filter housings (if they're still there).

Worst case scenario, put the business end of the screwdriver in your ear. You won't be able to hear the sound after that (or anything else for that matter...)

Garage
I fear you might be hearing the balancer gear slowly chewing away your case from the inside.

I would drain the oil and see what you get. if there is ANY aluminum shavings it is a BAD sign.

Better to fix it now before you wind up having to replace the case and other items.

Bad sign - Yes ! You would also find rubber pieces.
If you DO find this with an Oil change = DO NOT RUN ENGINE !
Pull engine - replace 6 Dampers = $40.00 (+ gaskets).

Chirp? I would check the spark plugs. 'Chirp' generally = compression.
