Question Reverse lighting

Okay, I consider myself a pretty good shade tree mechanic , but I have no clue what reverse lighting is Is it what makes to light stay off until the engine starts?

The 750 has a relay that is activated when the stator outputs AC, Once it switches it stays on untill the key is shut off.

Ya got it close,
It's reserve lighting, not reverse.

The reserve lighting system will automatically illuminate your highbeam, should your lowbeam burn out, or vice versa.
If it does happen, the white 'HEADLIGHT' indicator on the dash will light up to let you know you have a light out.
