Those with V and H Cruzer Exhausts

Trying to install my used V and H exhausts and have hit a wall. What are the talking about:

INSTALLING YOUR NEW VANCE & HINES EXHAUST SYSTEM
1. Remove the two bolts from the charcoal canister mount, the canister is located in front of the
rear tire. Using the two 6mm x 16mm bolts (supplied) install the centerstand stop bracket,
(stamped 205), by aligning the holes in the bracket with the holes in the canister mount. Be sure
the bend closest to the holes in the bracket angles towards the rear of the motorcycle and the
tang is pointed to the left hand side. Tighten the two 6mm bolts at this time.

Noticed that the right hand sine exhaust dosen't match the original hanger. About 3 inch to long. WTF?

Thanks

I had some about 3 years ago, bought new, didn't like, sold at a pretty good loss. The "charcoal canister" is only on California models. It is part of the CA evap system. I had already completely removed that entire mess, along with the complete air injection system before getting the pipes. If you remove the right sidecover and look down in there just in front of the swingarm, if it has one, you can't miss it. It's a big rectangular plastic box with a smaller cylindrical plastic thing attached to the side of it, and a zillion hoses attached to it. It serves no purpose other than to make the bike run badly when you fill the tank all the way up. I don't remember any problems installing the pipes, and they sounded great around town, but I couldn't handle the racket on long trips, even with earplugs. I did have to upjet one size on both the main and pilot jets, for around 1200 feet altitude.

I am a motorcyclist, NOT a biker.

This is for the centerstand stop. A lot of used sets don't include them for whatever reason.

That being said, it doesn't help much for me anyways. If I'm not careful the centerstand slaps the exhaust.

So install went pretty smoothly. Fired it up, Wow! Really load. Not sure of normal or PO removed something. May look for additional packing. Afraid of waking the neighbors. Sounds nice and throaty, though.

I agree. I had Cobra's on mine and they weren't bad. I didn't consider my bike "loud" until I pulled the Cobras off and put on the EMGO turn-out mufflers.

I only understand what I don't understand.
