Heat Shield for Exhaust

Hi all,
I have a 2001 750 with a standard exhaust. I have owned this bike for six months and have come across an issue with the heat from the exhaust that I was hoping to get some advise. I live in Arizona and the stock heat shields are not effective in the summer heat. The heat is so intense that my jeans, and legs, get burned by the stock heat shields. I noticed that there are wires riveted to the stock heat shields and thought that there must be some kind of accessory that "clamps" onto the wire assemblies. After looking at a few pics, I noticed that none of the bikes have any kind of external heat shields attaching to the wires. After searching aftermarket web sites, have not found anything that fits those darn wires. Does Kawasaki produce any after market heat shields for those wires. Any suggestions? I have included two picks of the wires on the exhaust.

Nope those are just styling details. You could try taking the heat shields off and using exhaust wrap underneath it. That should help a little bit.
