Royal Purple oil

Has anyone used Royal Purple oil in their bikes? I'm due for an oil change and wanted to try it.

It didn't rank well in an independant test. I'd not use it unless you're getting it free.....

Not counting synthetic oils, the most widely reccomended oil here and on other bike forums is Shell's Rottella. It also made the top four in several tests.

It's also inexpensive...and available at Wal-mart in gallon jugs.

You can count synthetic oils as well! The Rotella T6 is synthetic and it's really inexpensive compared to other brands of synthetic.

I run the T6 synthetic because it basically costs the same or less than other non-synthetics would cost, and as you said, it's usually well reviewed.
