Marbling???

I am new to the forum and was looking through all of the threads talking about getting rid of the popping. I noticed a lot of people talking about marbling the reed valve hose and I'm not familiar with this and where it is at, could someone point me in the right direction?

Hey there Schatz, welcome to the site.
I haven't done the 'marbling' mod yet, but here is what it is.
This is the rear cylinder. The same thing is on the other side for the front cylinder.........

Also, HERE's a complete online parts diagram from Ron Ayers Motorsports Superstore.

Marbling....

I have done the marble trick and it did help, but did not resolve all of the popping. I think a combination of adding the 5/8" marble to the the inside of the reed hose AND backing out the carb screws (as suggested in the verses) will be the trick. Still need to do the carbs- maybe in the spring as she's put away snug for the winter.
