Question Discoloration on one pipe

Hey all I was wondering if anyone has seen this. My right pipe (if your sitting on the bike) is "blue-ing" near the engine and I cannot polish it off with any amount of chrome polish. The left pipe is not doing this and I know its firing because its just as hot as the right one. Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think, if I should be concerned ot not.

Thanks in advance guys.

The left pipe is covered by the heat shield which pretty much covers the entire header on that side! The right is pretty much exposed all the way to back under the foot peg. The blueing is caused by to much heat or that cylinder is running to lean. I think blueing high is lean, and low is rich. I might be wrong, am sure it will get clarified, just ask here and you will find the answer!! What kind of seat is that?

04-3,200 miles bought July 2011 with 928 miles. Loaded with acessories to many to list here, see my albums for more details! I also make a custom tank bib specific for the 750 if anyone is interested, ck my albums for some pics.

You have to remove the heat shield on the left exhaust to see what color the pipe is. Romeo is correct, blueing near the cylinder means you are running lean. Blueing 4 or 5 inches down on the pipe usually means a rich condition.

Mine is worse, but I was able to improve it somewhat with a polish called "Wenol". I got it from a vendor at a bike rally who said to put it on while the pipe is hot, which I did. It stinks like crazy, and didn't totally fix the blueing, but I think it helped at least.

Mine actually turns a gold color, don't know what that means! I use Blue Magic, think I got it at one of the local auto stores, does help and also that is a good overall metal polish. Does real good on alum.
