Welcome to the Vulcan madness Mort.
Congrats on getting a `91 too. It has the fastest colors!!

Where do you live?
If you go to the User CP and fill out your public profile, your location will show up on every post.
You can also create a signature line like many of us have, with info about your bike such as model year, any mods, etc.

There were not many changes to the vn over the 21 years of prodution, but there were a few ***, and having the model year included in every post often helps us give a more complete and accurate answer to a question.

***History of the vn750 as we know it:
https://www.vn750.com/forum/showthrea...ght=color+year

The shape of the master brake cylinder for the front brakes changed from rectangular on the 1985-90 models to round on all models from 1991 and later.
The brake lever on the early rectangular master cylinder has a ~15* "dog leg" bend downward to keep it parallel to the handlebar.
The lever on the 1991-2006 models is basicly flat. Make sure you get the new lever for your `91.

(The rectangular and round mc are interchangeable on all models, as long as you have the corresponding lever to match it.)

Welcome!

If you want just slightly louder you can try drilling a few holes at the end of the pipe.. I did 4 1/4"on both sides.. It gave me a little more sound without pissing anyone off best of all it don't cost you anything.. and if you don't like it you thought about replacing them anyway.. Oh, try one on each side then two then three etc.. You might want more or less then I did..

i'm not neccesarily looking for louder. i like a nice clean rumble but both the very ends of the exhaust have holes (RUST) and i want to clean up the look with either the oem or a better priced aftermarket (as long as doesn't have too much bark)

your best bet would be to look for a set of HD mufflers on eBay... you should be able to score a set for around 50 bucks. They sound good, not to loud, not to quiet, and bolt right on.

I recommend the Vance & Hines Cruzers exhaust, and Metzeler ME880 tires in the stock sizes. The brake lever you can get from any Kawasaki dealer.

I am a motorcyclist, NOT a biker.
