Cylinder honing

I have a question for the experts, I recently dismantled a 2001 engine with about 10K miles. I studied Roach's youtube videos ( thank you) and I got everything just right. My question is, does the cylinder walls need to be honed if I am reusing the same rings and piston? All rings and pistons are still good per OEM spec. Thanks

From my experience, I always looked at replacing the rings as cheap insurance once down that far. As for honing, you don't have to go crazy. but I would run a hone through the jugs just to break up any glazing. Then wipe a good coat of oil on the walls for assembly. The inexpensive hones that fit on a drill work just fine for that, just work it in and out to get a decent cross-hatch.
