Sometimes when you shut off the bike the radiator fan turns on for a few seconds. Could that be it ?

Or could it be the cas cap venting that you hear ??

It has a bit of a whistling sound too.

If it is an actual "whistle" sound - that is not normal. Leaky radiator cap maybe? The gas tank has some pressure relief stuff on it, but it doesn't whistle.

Make sure you read all of the Vulcan Verses on the main forum page. It has everything you should know about our bikes.

Also, if you don't mind, I just put up a new poll. You can get to it from the main Portal page (www.vn750.com). This one's anonymous for those sensitive about their age. I'm 43.

My gas cap vent ALWAYS whistles, moreso on a hot day, regardless of how much fuel is in the tank. I have a 2005 and it's whistled since day one.
