The problem isn't fear of coolant in the oil, although that may be a thing that's happening. But when a coolant hose blew, the coolant that shot out everywhere was contaminated with oil. It would make sense that the oil is full of coolant as well, but the oil isn't what was pooling on the asphalt.
And as far as removing the tank goes, I can manage that. I've had it off before, and I'm sure that if it was just a hose, it would be a ten minute project to replace it. But the deeper concern is what might have caused it to blow, and why it seemed like the coolant was full of oil.
Water pump seal is a good thought, that would explain the spraying coolant for sure, but not so much the contamination. But maybe the two aren't related?
At the moment I'm working too much to have any daylight hours to put into it. But I'll report back once I get a chance to look at it and see what I can figure out
