Ugly noise

Ok so i recently got myself a 95 vulcan 750.....
As was well test ride went great other than issues with not being able to run without choke.
Figured that was an easy enough fix took care of it. But now i seem to have noise what seems to be.coming from the lower end

Its a knocking noise seems to raise with rpms and then cant hear it anymore ....not sure how to put a vid on post

If you're lucky it's just cam chain tensioners.

The $4 Harbor Freight mech's stethoscope is great for pinpointing noises.

Ive liatened with a screwdriver its really hard to pinpoint and i still have the vacuum leak as well waiting for new carb hangers but it worries me that its a rod knock

Cam chain sounds like a rapid ticking. Not a clunk, but definitely percussive. It's speed is linked to RPMs, but it isn't quite as regular as a valve knock would be, since the slapping of the chain against the guide is sort of random instead of linked directly to the crankshaft.

Search here and at youtube, should be a few videos around. The tensioners are usually called the ACCT, Automatic Cam Chain Tensioner.

Its looking more and more like a rod still need to fix the vac leak and then fromnthere maybe check the dampers
