Idle Gear washer?

Hi All.

According to the Kwak manual, there's a washer that goes behind the idle gear. (see pics). I've stripped 2 engines in recent years and i'm currently on a 3rd & none of them have it. They're all 94/95 year. I would of guessed it might be an age related part, but the manual doesn't say so. Has anyone else noticed their's doesn't have one? It's a bit odd because it's shown in the exploded view, but not in the 'parts' section. I guess that might mean it isn't critical to have one or I can use any washer the fits?

Cheers.

Looks like it's probably a thrust washer, but the trick will be finding the correct thickness. A regular washer will most likely be too thick, so you'll need one designated as a "thrust" washer. A regular washer will make it too tight.

Edit: Did you get the drawing in your first pic from the parts list for the starter?

I looked on Partzilla and it doesn't show that washer in the diagram. If this is correct, you may not need it. Could be an error in that second pic you posted.
