Free exhaust mod

Hey guys,

There I was, minding my own business. I've noticed that on throttle off I have been getting slightly more popping but didn't think anything of it. I'm preparing for an ear shave and was going to check all the vacuum lines while I was at it and I figured that'd fix it.

But today, I'm riding on the freeway, and my exhaust gets really loud and I hear a clang. No change in how the bike was riding though so I safely pulled off the freeway to check it out. Turns out both the bolts from my front header fell out, and the loud clang was from the cover falling off.

Thankfully I was near a home Depot so I safely drove the couple miles there and got some new nuts. I'm sure there's a better way I could have said that.

What is the best way to tighten the exhaust nuts? I was able to get them reasonably snug but don't feel they're as tight as they could be.

Also, I'm dumb and had to check to make sure the exhaust fell out so I pushed it with my hand...

I've got a nice blister on my thumb now
