Engine Mounting Bolt

I'm riding along the other day when I looked down to my left and saw the top rear engine mounting bolt poking out about of foot from the bike. I pushed it back in and went home. I purchased the correct engine bracket damper and bolt but when I put them on the damper bulges before it gets tight. Based on the schematic all the parts appear to be there. I put some lock tight on it and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't loosen up, but it just doesn't seem right. Any ideas?
