Never Trust the PO's Mechanic

So, I split the case to fix my oil leak at the seam above the oil filter. and low and behold the likely reason for the leak.

and the other side



so my question is, is the case still useable? I do have another lower the I can clean up that I think is good so there is that.

also I can confirm the engine will run smoothly while missing the two odd balance dampeners.

geez dude thats a real ****ty discovery make I'm sure you could quiksteel it back together and file down the excess,can't run any worse than before.

Just got back with the Quick Steel actually. I debated brazing it instead, but don't want to overheat it with oxy acetylene and don't want to buy a map gas torch.

If anyone wants a specific picture of anything inside let me know in the next week or so, I'll be happy to get it for you.

with half a turn of rotation it sounds like the impeller shaft is messed up.

Here is the water pump drive on the back of the oil pump.


and the shaft to the impeller.
