swapping out clutch lever

Edit: figured it out, but from when i dropped it the first day the notch where you slide the cable into the lever is basically bent and welded shut, so anyone no where i can get a stainless steel clutch cable? I like the look of those over the regular cables lol

So I bought a clutch and brake lever from another member and just went out to try and swap out my levers for the new ones, brake was just fine, no problems. But the clutch is a different story. What do I do to get some slack in the cable? With how it is currently there isn't enough slack for me to get the handle out of the housing on the bar,

your edit says you figured it out, but here is what to do for those who may face this in the future.

clutch cable has 2 adjustment points. one at the grip, one 1/2 way down the front of the frame. the grip adjustment is the 'fine' adjust, the other one is a 'coarse' adjustment. that 2nd one will give you a LOT of extra slack for cable changes, or other maintainance where the cable needs to be disconnected/removed
