Drivers Floorboards

As many know, I have been making runs of these sporadicly lately. Due to available time with my new job, it has been harder and harder to find time to devote to making them, so..

I have decided to completely stop fabricating the Vulcan Floorboards.

But all is not lost for those still hoping to add a set to their bike:
Our fellow Vulcanite, Chad, has taken my basic design, and using the same quality hardware and materials, is going to be producing them for all those in need.

He is currently working on a website with photos on the boards , ordering info and pricing.

So expect to see more information posted from him about them soon..........

It was ,for a time, alot of fun supplying you all with the diffrent items I offered under the Metric Custom Creations banner, but now it is time for me to move on and new blood to do all the work..........lol

I have a waiting list of those of you wishing to buy a set of the drivers floorboards, that info will be forwarded to Chad, and his contact info will be shortly sent out to those on the list.

Thanks for all of your guys support and kind words about the products I offered over the years.

KM,
I for one appreciate your designs and low selling price. If chad does half the job you did he will have plenty of customers to keep him busy. I hope while moving on you still stay with this site.

Very cool of ya Eric to hand the flame over to Chad.

As someone else said over on the Y! group - it's been great of you to provide dimensions and pics to those of us that want to make pitiful copies of what ya make ;-) and it's great that you're handing the flame on to chad so that those that want floorboards that don't look like a 5 year old made em can get em ;-)

Thanks all for your kind responces. I am not totally giving up fabricating stuff, as I still will be producing passenger floorboards for the Yamaha FJR.
Nor am I leaving either of the Vulcan forums, although I no longer ride one.

My decision to stop making Vulcan parts was because the time needed to make the Vulcan boards was simply eating into my "life" too much.

I wish to give more credit to Chad here...the phrase "handing over the flame" is not quite what I would use however, as Chad had made some of the boards already, but being the gentleman he is, did not want to step on my toes and compete with me. But when he learned that I was seriously thinking about not making the floorboards anymore, he had a mutual freind contact me to ask if it was OK for him to start selling them openly.

As the one thing holding me back was the idea that new Vulcaneers would not have this option available to them anymore, and it made me feel a bit guilty about quiting.
So Chad's request came at a perfect time, and everyone wins here.

And as always, anyone is welcome to use any of my designs or ideas to fabricate their own stuff. Drawing and photos are still up at the flickr site below (although some photos were lost in the move when yahoo photos closed)

Anyone having any questions on how to make any of the items is also always free to contact me for help.

So a Thanks and a Your Welcome from

Knifemaker

I just went to your site and ordered a set of floorboards for my '85 VN700 and was wondering if these are in stock ready to ship or waiting to be manufactured and then shipped? Thanks.
