Cool Needed; Rear luggage Rack.

This question has probably been rode to death..However...
Does anyone know where I can get a good rack? The one's I have seen listed require buying a sissy bar also.
I just need and desire a good, solid, bolt on Rack.

Thanks,

Durt

What??? The VN750 comes with a short sissy bar and any rack sold for the VN750 will work with the OEM set-up or with the extended backrest.

Now, the 800/1500/1600 and V2K Vulcan's require the backrest to work with a luggage rack.

Normally I would suggest eBay but right now there are none on the site that I can find with the exception of a Jardine rack with the picture of a Honda, so I'm not sure I would trust that auction. Besides, the Jardine luggage rack while pretty is weak as hell and breaks pretty easly.

Here is a picture of a standard Kawasaki luggage rack. This particular picture has the extended backrest on it but it can be mounted with the OEM mini backrest that comes standard on the VN750.

Hope this helps...

That one currently is on closeout at Dennis Kirk for $121.49. http://denniskirk.com/jsp/product_ca...n&skuId=501896

I'm not a big fan of that Jardine rack as the two brackets that are used to attach it to the bike are weak at best. Nowhere as strong as any of the Kawasaki racks that they made. I've had to make replacement L brackets for people when the ones they had broke. For a while, I was buying the Jardine racks with broken brackets from a outlet store for $20 each and making new brackets and selling them whole shebang for $120 - $150 on eBay, but those days are long past.

While the Jardine rack looks awesome, it has no capacity for carrying weight. A 2nd or 3rd generation Kawasaki rack can be overloaded to 25-50lbs and my 1st generation Kawasaki rack can go much more if necessary. The Jardine rack usually busts it's mounting brackets at around 10lbs or so. Vibrations kill those things...
