Bars, dear sweet bars....
What's going on Vulcaneers! Tonight I plan on going for my firts "ride" since the near disaster / drop from a while ago. I have my baby put back together (haven't swapped out hte clutch lever yet...) and she's actually running. One thing that I found out earlier today that I wasn't aware of before is that I apparently bent my handle bars. When the front tire is straight ahead, the triple trees are straight, but the left bar is kinda wonky. I had been thinking about new bars for a while since I have heard some good things about aftermarket ones and don't particularly care for the stockers. What I need help on is understanding the terminology before I go and purchase a new set.
The Bikemaster bars on JCW site say "4", Rise: 3.04", Pullback: 3", Bend: Superbike, Width: 29.2" Handlebar"
The Flanders bars on the cyclepages site says "Height: 4.5"/Pull Back: 10.5"/Center: 5"/Width: 32.5"/ 2. Knurled/Dirt Track"
I have no idea (well, maybe a little bitty bit of an idea) what the numbers really mean. Can someone offer guidance? I'm really more interested in which bars would fit best on the bike, because at the end of the day that means more than the definition of the measurements. Watching Americna Chopper hasn't helped..... Thanks!
