EBay has a lot of bars and grips, just have to make sure they are 7/8" and NOT 1" unless you modify them. The grips slide over the throttle tube, its not one piece. 12" apes, no modifications needed, 14" slight mods, anything over that plan on getting longer cables. Happy hunting.

If you still have the stock grips you'll have to cut the throttle side off as its formed around plastic ridges on the tube itself. (A razor blade slice down the grip will do it, don't go too deep as the throttle tube is plastic)

You'll need to file or grind off those plastic tabs to get a new grip on. Grips sold in pairs for 7/8 bars will have one that has a larger inside diameter to fit over the throttle tube...make sure you have the proper grip for that side before trying to mount it.

Our stocks are consudered "mini apes"...theyre 7 1/2" rise...if you go too high, you'll need new, longer cables and such....I just ordered a pair of 11" WIDE apes (Im a lanky 6'1")....the width is what ya really want for comfort (helps control the bike better too)...

Best prices Ive seen here at Phat.....

These are REALLY sweet, but cost a bit more....

Dont worry about the lil dimple for the thottle....2 wraps of electric tape wiped in gas will keep em on....

To Ace, I've found Grab On Grips to be a good bonus for thickness and vibration reduction, for the comfort of the hands, they look like fat foam rubber. Very comfortable.
It may only be my observation, but taller bars within reason tend to throw a bit more weight on the back end, don't ask me why but that's the feeling, add better vision being upright, they also tend to fire you into the air, when u hit a car as opposed to centre punching it with your head. Powering out of corners and the back end feels more glued to the road as well. Just my thoughts and seat of the pants feeling.

I refuse to buy anything Kury, unless its used and half price....gotta be the most overpriced company there is.....I go to V-Twin Mfg first....their 7/8 is limited though....

But Drag Specialties make nice "mid-apes" for under $100....I went with the others because they were like $58....shipped from Europe though, so no "expedited shipping", lol....

For the Vulcan....and this is coming from 40 yrs of biking, go WIDE mid apes....the width gives you so much more control.....
