aftermarket side panels

I'm not sure what these things are even called, but while attempting to remove the "Vulcan 750" stickers from those plastic side covers, I might have accidentally melted one of them. Not too bad, just a little bit. Clearly a torch and a few lagers don't mix.

Anyhow, while doing this I was thinking - it would be cool if I could replace my melted plastic covers with something cooler. Maybe chrome or stainless. Does anyone sell such a part? I couldn't find anything in the verses on this, or in search.

Stock Chrome! Sounds like a deal. Do you recall what year they were chrome?

They aren't metal chrome, they're plastic chrome. Still available through places like Ron Ayers but pricey. Best bet is to find some on ebay from a parted out bike. (though they can still be pricey even there!)

My 95 has plastic chrome side covers. You can sort of see them in this pic:

Kind of like the look of artifical Chrome side covers. Will have to check out
Ron Ayers to see how steeply they are priced. Eventually I will be buying
a second vn750 for spare parts, but am waiting for prices to fall. Have seen several up for sale already this spring, but pricey.
Thanks for the pic!
