Doug "quote for the post" Simmons (from yahoo) had made one from a short backrest frame (the stock frame that holds the toolbox and seat in place). If its cheap you are looking for, this may be the way to go.

Both have: - F&S Bags & brackets
- Corbin seat w backrest
- Progressive suspension.
- Kury iso goldwing grips

2 1985 V65 Mangas (1 which is in many parts)

I too made one from the stock backrest. I made a couple triangular shaped brackets, made small saw cuts to the bottom of the toolbox, and used holes already there for attach points. Check out the photo in my gallery.

Hi I live in the UK and have spent to much money on this bike so am looking for a cheap way of making a rack.
I'm interested to know what you could use from a home and kitchen shop, I am hoping to put a small top box on it, I like the idea of using a sissy bar but these are rare and hense expensive over here.

Cheers Andy

I have the design in my head for a simple rack that can be made with home tools: hack saw and drill - that should look good, cheap to build, and be stout enough to hold a small trunk. I might be able to put it up this weekend. My idea is not new, it's a spin from my 77' Wing project.

There are some bicycle rear racks that, with some creative engineering, could work decently on the Vulcan.

That's cool.
Looks like some engineering skills were put to work there.
