Russel Day Long Seat

I've picked up an oem 900 classic LT seat cheap off of ebay and I'm going to take my Russel day long apart and rebuild the 900 seat. I'm not sure if I will build a 2 up seat or a solo. If I do a solo I would have the passenger seat on the Russel to build a bobber seat as well.

Naturally, I don't know what the hell I'm doing so this should be interesting.

It's noted that some of you are willing to pay (hahaha) big bucks to see a Russel Day Long's innards. I've searched the internet and found one unimpressive example. It appears to be all in the expensive foam and not springs but we will see. I will pain over this project before starting. It's something I do quite well. I may even model it in Autodesk Inventor or look for inspiration on the net.

You have all seen my Russel Day Long seat. Some describe it as an abomination. Others prefer to roll their eyes in disbelief as it's clear to them the passenger seat is actually where the licence plate starts. Clearly, the architect took a chance during the design phase in the hope of making a positive statement to onlookers and his then girlfriends comfort. Well, the architect is at it again. This time he's willing to listen to suggestions which probably will be ignored but not without the fore knowledge that there will be a lot of negative comments about lost opportunities. Yay, though I walk thought the valley of death I fear no evil.....
