Riding Shoes

I had been looking for a decent pair of riding shoes for a while now. I did not want to get boots, bunch of leather, etc, as that is not me. I wanted to look more casual.

I just got some Sidi Doha riding shoes and I like them a lot. Protection feels adequate, but they're comfortable.

Anyone else prefer the riding shoe styling over boots?

I also have a pair of Black Danner Ankle high gore tex and leather boots that are very comfortable and sturdy that I like as well. But I guess the Sidi is on the short list to replace the Shift riding shoes when they bite the big one now.

If you see it on my bike I did it

I'm a boot guy too. Like Deuce, I like the protection leather provides but I also ride year 'round. I feel like if you rode in Winter in them things you'd freeze your toes off.

I have to admit it...even though I always wear a FF helmet, gloves, armored pants and jacket.....90% of the time I just wear leather running shoes. I have a nice pair of over the ankle boots, and an even nicer pair of under the knee motorcycle cop boots...

But I just like the feel of a lighter shoe. I realize the gap in protection here, but unless I'm traveling, most short jaunts on my bike I wear my New Balance leather running shoes.

If I could afford a pair of those Sidi's right now I'd likely wear them instead....

I always wear steel toes and leather over the ankle uppers. Yea, they look like farm boots and get warm on the hottest days; but I want protection down there, and that's what does it for me.

^ Be careful with steel-toe if you ride in Winter. That metal gets cold fast and toes can suffer. Not sure it's an issue where you're at in TN but thought I'd mention it.

I wear good old Ropers.....low boots with steel toe and aggressive treads unlike real Roper Cowboy Boots.
They seem to work well for me and not too hot on those nasty hot summer days. I want something light enough for mobility, but offer more protection than sneakers.

I have been known to wear dress shoes and dockers on the way to and from work though
