Question Laydown License Plate Mount

What are the chances that a laydown license plate mount for a harley would work on our bikes? I'm looking at this one on ebay. I really don't like how the license plate just kinda flaps in the wind in the stock location. I was thinking if I could get one of those laydown mounts and some led bolts I could just replace the stock mount and light. Think it would work?

That's a darn fine idea. I happen to have some of that in the garage too. Thanks for the idea there. Is that 3/4" by 1/8" that you used?

So I finally got around to doing something with this. I ended up just using the OEM license plate bracket and removing the light. I replaced the light by using LED bolts in the top. Here are some pics to show what I did:

All in all I'm very pleased with how it looks. I'll see how bright the lights are tonight.

Thanks Reb. Just checked out the LEDs in the dark. They're bright...bright enough. They could probably do a little better job illuminating the whole plate. But I think they are good for what I wanted. If I had one in each corner the whole plate would be really bright.

These are the ones I got: http://www.ebay.com/itm/220819129264...84.m1497.l2649. There were lots of them on ebay and some even cheaper, but the cheaper ones didn't look as much like chrome. There are also some in black if that's more to your liking.
