Cutting board saddlebag mounts

Gadgets fixit page for vulcans has a project using plastic cutting boards as saddlebag supports http://www.gadgetjq.com/gadgetsfixitpage.htm

Has anyone tried this?? The supports are so $$$$

Took me a few minutes to find it as well, but I knew it was there because I had read it before a time or two.
I think I scrolled past it twice before I found it.
