New Saddlebags...

As Lance can attest to...the saddlebags that came with my '89 VN750 look like they were left out in the rain since about '89...

So, I just placed an order for new bags.

Nice, those should look great. I bought my bags a couple of weeks ago from Leather Up, they ended up working out very well. I went for the tapered Black and Grey braided (#X855-Saddlebag).

Hey M_Angell, i like those bags, it looks like you didnt have to relocate your rear blinkers???
Do you have support mounts for the bags??? If so, could u post some pics?
I am trying to make or find some cheap bag mounts, but first i am not sure what kinda bags i wanna get, and if i want soft or hard bags.

Thanks

nope, no mounts or supports, but I'd bet one could easily fab some. As far as the blinkers go, I do plan on moving them soon and moving my helmet locks where the turn signals are now. They are a minor inconvenience right now. I want to mount them on the brake light housing and make a plate to mount the locks.

Mine are the same way. The bags rest on the shocks without any kind of movement, so I didn't see the need for the supports right away. I also lost my helmet locks behind the bags as well. I bought the matching fork bag (tool bag) but I don't like the straps they come with, so I have mounted them yet.

The new saddlebags just arrived today.

They look really nice, and I like the "easy open" feature.

Will get them on the bike and take a photo.

Will those be in the way for a passenger? I'm thinking about getting big bags like that, but I frequently have a passenger and I thought they might be in the way of the pegs.

Mom, I'm not wearing my helmet only for the purpose of taking this picture and
the background was digitally blurred to make it look like I'm going really fast.
