OEM engine guard

Hello

quick question: do i need to remove the right exhaust to install the engine guard?

I know it sounds kinda dumb...it's friday and i had a couple beers already CHEERS!!

not sure how old this thing is, bought it of Ebay....how can you tell for the newer ones?

The right upper mounting tab on the newer one is welded, the old one is bolted.
