chrome air filters?

I was curious if anyone has heard of or tried K&N chrome air filters. They have a set of used ones on ebay and I've never seen anything like them. The EBAY item # is 140332880557.

Seems to me the filters are not K&N's for a Vulcan, but K&N's made to fit a Vulcan, with sidecover emblems added.

The seller has this note....
Quote:
Note: there is no attachment on these filter housings for the *fresh-air hoses*. These hoses (1/2 in diameter) will need to be plugged as they both go to the stock airbox plenum on top of the engine--you wouldn't want to be drawing unfiltered air to your carbs with unplugged hoses! Doing this modofication in NO way affects performance, safety or engine longevity, etc.
???? Plugging the right side hose usually leads to problems with how the bike runs.

I`m sure that I have read a thread where someone put an auxillary filter on that hose to the right ear, after an ear shave. It shouldn`t be an insurmountable problem.
