Skid plate or bash guard?

Did a Google and a forum search. Didn't see any, production or otherwise...
Anyone on here fabricate their own? And have pics to share??

Long story short my buddy knackered his starter curb hopping. And now I'm brainstorming ideas for a skid plate.
There's not much to mount to down there. And the starter is just hanging out there. "Oil pan" seems pretty vunerable too.

Gonna mock a cardboard one up. To be replicated with sheet metal.
But I'm thinking rod or tubing might do the job as well...

Any input from the hive mind is appreciated!
