Who understands handle bars?

OK .. I love the stock handle bars on my 94 750 .. They are just plain comfortble. So I got a new Vulcan Mean Streak .. so far O love the bike but hate the handle bars. I put on risers to pull them back to me about 2 in (short guy here) but they still feel .. well .. wrong. I miss the curvature or whatever it is of my 750 handle bars (I still have her and will not get rid of her!). So when looking for new bars for my MS .. what is it that I am looking for to give the 750 feel? They are not ape hanges (if I understand that right) .. what is the pull or whatever I should be looking for in bars? Thanks gang.

They're basically mini-apes. IIRC, about a 9" ride with something like 3-5" of pull back, not sure of the width. You can measure the pullback on your VN750, also worth checking how far your crotch sits from the base of the bars (at the triple tree) since the bikes are likely different in that regard.

You've got rise, pullback, width as the major measurements as well as grip angle, etc. You can google charts that show how measurements are taken.

Mini apes in 7/8" diameter. Buckhorns might work well for you. Rabbit ears are the sheisse, IMO.

Charts like these can show you easy swaps rather than scouring for aftermarket that fits your requirements or paying for cu$$$tom parts.
